Telfair Academy -

A former mansion built in 1818 for Alexander Telfair, the son of a Revolutionary War patriot, this beautiful Savannah museum displays 19th and 20th century American and European art. With a focus on impressionism and realism, Telfair Academy presents paintings, works on paper, sculpture, and decorative arts. Jepson Center -

Devoted to the art of the day, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair's future with its past. This museum features a 7500 square foot gallery space for the permanent collection and major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art. The collection features works on paper by many pivotal artists of the past 50 years, including J Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons, and Richard Avedon, as well as notable Georgia artists. Mighty Eight Museum

Mighty Eight Museum -

A powerful experience, the Mighty Eight Air Force Museum displays one of the largest collections of Air Force memorabilia. Inspired by veteran Major General Lewis E Lyle, the museum honors the 350,000 members of the 8th Air Force - the greatest air armada the world had ever seen who helped defeat the Nazis during WWII and thousands that were killed. Savannah Children's Museum -

Kids can explore coastal Georgia through play at the new Savannah Children's Museum. The museum features fun, hands-on exhibits, family activities and outdoor events that teach kids about the wildlife in the river and science. Savannah History Museum -

Located inside the old Central of Georgia Railway passenger shed, the Savannah History Museum is a National Historic Landmark built in the 1850s and 1860s. The museum houses more than 10,000 artifacts that showcase Savannah's fascinating history from its founding in 1733 to present day. See exhibits and artifacts that document Savannah's military history and railways, as well as Forest Gump's bench, one of Johnny Mercer's Oscar Awards, and a carriage owned by Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Lowe. Georgia State Railroad Museum (Roundhouse Museum) -

The Georgia State Railroad Museum is a stunning National Historic Landmark where families learn about historical rail cars and rolling stock on display and take train rides on nostalgic locomotives from 1913 and 1947. The museum also offers blacksmithing demonstrations, daily events and guided tours. Georgia State Railroad Museum is believed to be the largest and most complete antebellum railroad repair facility still in existence.
